Can someone please email me the CEDA/NDT eligibility form for the national
tournaments? I accidentally deleted. Thanks in advance.

Subject: Womyn v. myn

I justed wanted to applaud all of the people who have spoken up in support of all the unique people in this activity. I think all of us in the debate comunity has someone (female, male, or other) who has inspired us to be a little better, or try a little harder.

Thank-yous go out to Jason Jarvis and Kristin Dybvig for giving me the opportunity to participate in forensics, and for encouraging me not to quit when I felt discouraged or marginalized.

To all the people out there (namely Gene) who think that all feminists want to go around lopping off dicks and burning men at the stake: what a trivial way to generalize (to use your language) a movement. There are many types of feminists who are fighting for many different causes. Maybe you should take some time to enlighten your little brain. Read a goddam book or two about feminism. Then maybe we could have an informed discussion about gender issues. Would you go into a round without knowing at least something about the topic? Actually, after reading your post, you probably would. . .

For all the debaters out there who feel like the odd one out (this includes all the womyn who are the only female members of their squad, all the womyn who are the only female intructors at a summer institute . . . basically all of the people who have felt marginalized at one point or another): Think of the struggles of those who went before you. I think the womyn's wall and the list that has been going around are great ways of remembering that we are not alone.

Rather than looking at the womyn's wall as a way of glorifying womyn over men or cheapening the value of a first place trophy, I think that the wall is a way of uniting us around a common cause or goal. I think it's rediculous to say that because success is celebrated it is somehow worth less.

Anyway, those are my thoughts (for what they're worth). And Gene, I know you think that we're all on pins and needles, holding our breath with anticipation just waiting for you to reveal your true identity. But, I really don't give two shits who you are. You're not that special.
