Myn Wall

I didn't mean to imply that Hester, Breshears or anyone for that matter
would react violently if someone merely posted some accomplishments of
people in this activity. Sorry, didn't mean to speak for them. I was
however implying that if this wall was erected in a fashion that was meant
to demean Rachel and her work, or womyn in general (like the original men
page) that people in this community would not view it favorably, and the
person responsible would be held accountable for their actions. If it's
tasteful and not meant to poke fun at the womyn in debate page or the
womyn's wall--fine. I fear that's not the plan however.

this may be similar to a problem Fritch highlighted a while ago about the
problems of novice standards and high school debate in this area. Most of
missouri high schools, as well as some to most of arkansas schools have
debate programs, meaning that many people interested in debate gain
experience. however, the form of debate practiced around here is unlike
anything ever seen on the ceda/ndt circuit. its slow, rhetorical, and not
very analytical. I think the most cards i ever read in a speech was 12 (and
these cards were *short*) and my partner and i almost lost a round for citing
evidence as "johnson in 98" as opposed to the full cite required by NFL. This
type of experience does absolutly nothing to prepare one for ceda/ndt debate,
but still denies one novice eligibility. Essentially, many people going into
college debate from this area are true novices but are "forced" to debate in
jv. This isnt always a bad thing (except for me, i should still *clearly* be
in novice), but it can make a slower progression through the ranks of debate
more difficult. The situation is being remedy as outside influences filter
in, including this list, the cx-l, debate central, and debate camps (mad
shout out to the kansas camp for teaching me how to debate my junior year of
high school. When one judges me, blame them <or fritch>) but the progress is
still slow.
