Thanks to Mahoney

On behalf of the Trojans, I want to send public thanks to Tim Mahoney for
the great job he did putting together the RR this week.  The debates were
good, the hospitality was great, and the location couldn't have been
better.

Thanks also to Glen Frappier for hosting the hospitality room, Greg Achten
for running the tab, and Frank Irizzary for doing a variety of needed
tasks.

We had a great time and I can't recommend the RR strong enough for next
year.

i consider myself a feminist, and must say that your rhetoric is
amusing.  however, here's my 2 cents on you/your arguments.
i am going to take a very semiotic approach to this and state in a very
non-feminist way (i.e. i'm not using quotations from a social scientist who in
any way would self identify as a feminist).
if we looked at this through the eyes of Freud or through a Lacanian lens, i
would surmise that you yourself are sadly stuck in the symbolic phase, and are
not yet into any social arena development, or have not entered the symbolic
phase. why, you ask me, is this?  you have not dealt with your oedipal issues.
therefore, you have all this misogyny and feel the need to go on edebate with
your anti-feminist jargon.
let me break it down for you, your id is having trauma, because of your
oedipal issues.  you feel immasculated and want to gain some power.  but
mr. schiros, it's not the feminist's fault you aren't comfortable in your
manhood.  befriend your cock, feel good about your masculinity, and then
perhaps this animosity will subside.
and remember, womyn aren't inherently different than men, we are just
socialized to be so.  so if you have issue with feminism, be proactive, and
try to create and foster a society which does not segregate them based on
physiology.
in the words of the great Simone deBeauvoir, "one is not born a woman, one
becomes a woman."
