Consider that Matt made a major investment of time and money to attend this debate.  Consider also that his flights were royally messed up, resulting in him spending an entire day in airports.  In fact, because of a delay on his first flight segment, he missed his connecting flight out of Atlanta and had to BUY another ticket to Greensboro on ANOTHER AIRLINE.

How did he "justify spending such an outrageous amount of time"?

Because he keeps his word.  And I can say with near certainty that his financial means are significantly less than Shanahan's.  Shanahan made the same commitment Matt did to be at this debate, but when faced with similar air travel problems, turned right around and went home.  How much would it have cost him to take the next available flight to GSO, regardless of airline, and find crash space if he couldn't justify an expenditure for a hotel room?  Too much?  Well, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT MATT DID.

This double standard is silly.

Oh, and rhetorical beating?  Are you serious?  Shanahan was given a basically indefensible position, that mass murder is *justified* because you don't like the victims' government's policies.

And where's Gordie Miller's condemnation of Shanahan?
