When did 27.5 become an "only"? It really frightens me that many of the
judges unwilling to give any debater below 27.5 are also assigning grades in
classrooms across the country. Point and grade inflation are not a
reflection of improving quality in students but are pretty clear evidence of
declining standards among people who call themselves educators. I think we
are all a bunch of gutless judges who are too afraid of hurting anyones
feelings to give points that realistically reflect our opinions of a given
performance.
