DOH!  You're right...I forgot that part.  Don't you think there were people
dying all over the planet (many for unjust reasons) while Chirst walked the
Earth?  Was his failure to intervene in each of these deaths an indication
of his support for them?  After all, he is GOD (3-in1, 3-in1!!!!  =P ), so
it's not like he didn't have the ABILITY to intervene.  So, what up?
 
This is the problem of evil that I grapple with in my understanding of
Christ.  I don't have an easy answer (sorry), though I would point you
towards "The Grand Inquisitor" chapter of Dostoevsky's "The Brothers
Karamazov" for a more lucid and moving explication of this problem.
 
In any event...I find it hard that any thinking person could take his
explicit actions in several cases and say that his failure to intervene in
this one is an indication of his SUPPORT for violence.  Eeerrrrr???
