[eDebate] Bush Using Queers as Wedge Issue: ans Cooper

Reporter: (P)resident Bush...do you have any statement regarding the recent
petition from members of the intercollegiate debate community?

Bush: I am mindful that we are all sinners. I think it's important for us
to recognize the right of anyone to speak up. However, this does not mean
that someone like me should compromise on this issue.

Now...is your argument, Shuman, that the President made the "we are all
sinners" comment as a non-sequiter?? Why did he even bring up sin? What
does sin have to do with his position on gay marriage?

De-cloaking again, briefly...

Why is any "spin" necessary? All one has to do is tell the truth, something

(Washington, D.C.) President George W. Bush referring to gays as 'sinners'
Wednesday said White House lawyers are looking at legislation for a
constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

Bush did NOT "refer to gays as sinners." Why do you need to further analyze
Mr. Johnson's story, since it contains an outright falsehood in the very
opening sentence? When you've got some "spin" on why a lying reporter
deserves our attention, perhaps you'll get more responses...
