[eDebate] The evolution of STA

It is the intention of SMSU to enter several shadow teams at CEDA Nationals to win shadow rounds in front of shadow judges while remaining virtually undetected except by the shadow tab room. Hopefully, other programs will not do the same, and we will be declared the shadow CEDA champions (or perhaps the CEDA shadow champions). If we fail in this quest, we will at least plan to shadow the CEDA national champions.

Seriously, we would thank Gary for all his hard work even if he were letting STA go. The fact that he is rewriting it and continuing to serve the community while also fighting licensing battles is really impressive. I wonder where he has personally taken on some economic cost from the current licenses for the software platform, and if we should collectively raise money to cover this cost.

Thank you, Gary!

Eric Morris

Subject: [eDebate] The evolution of STA

....
Last night, I completed testing of a sufficient amount of code to convince me that it is indeed possible for me to resurrect STA. I've written, debugged and fully tested the prelim pairing algorithms, mutual preference judging algorithms and tabulation interface. As a result I will be able to set up a shadow tab at CEDA Nats and one again at NPDA Nats that will fully test the program under tournament conditions. I invite any interested members of the community to come and visit me in the tabroom or my hotel at these tournaments to talk about the program and its development.
