Look,
Duane Hyland may think that I'm "sneering" at Mr.
Rosenbaum's generous donation to the NDT. And Matt
Cormack may think that I'm trying to "turn a positive
development into a negative." But both gentlemen are
way off here.
If something is good for the NDT, I'm all for it. Mr.
Rosenbaum is not only an NDT champ, but a successful
businessman. He is not only founder and president of
Palisades Associates (which leveraged a $30 million
recapitalization when Celerity Partners acquired
Imperial Technologies), but is affiliated with The
Whaler on Kaanapali Beach (pres. and dir.), Playcore
Holdings (dir.), and Harvard Debate, Inc. (dir.). He's
a member of the American Bar Association and the
American Forensics Association.
If we can have an NDT at "the AAA Three-Diamond Whaler
on Kaanapali Beach, located next to two championship
golf courses and approximately four miles from Kapalua
Airport," I'm all in favor of that. Whalers Village,
which is right next door, offers several restaurants,
numerous shops, and many exclusive boutiques! All
rooms feature kitchens, Italian marble bathrooms, and
separate living and sleeping areas! The ADA knows
what's up with Orlando, so why not get the NDT in on
the Hawaii scene?
Further, if we can get some playground equipment for
the NDT from Playcore, I'd be in favor of it. We need
a more family-friendly environment.
Chattanooga Magazine recently featured PlayCore in an
article that addressed the company?s global
committment to play, as well as its local playground
projects. PlayCore playgrounds can be found across the
globe, from England to Japan, from the Netherlands to
Mexico. A recent skate park addition at Camp Schwab in
Okinawa Japan now provides a touch of home to soldiers
serving there. The same can be said for a new
playground at Ramstein AFB in Germany. PlayCore?s work
with Kids Around The World assists the nonprofit
organization in bringing play to children of
impoverished nations.
PlayCore president and CEO Bob Farnsworth adds,
?This is what Moving Play Forward means to us. It?s
not just about bringing the latest products to market,
its ensuring that all children get the opportunity to
play.?

Mr. Rosenbaum is also on the Board of Directors of
NationsRent, which is poised for a strong comeback
after the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of
Delaware confirmed their reorganization plans in '03.

He's also a member of the Dean's Council at Harvard's
JFK School of Government.
And as Duane can testify, he's a really nice guy.
So chill out. I'm not sneering. I just think people
should know where money comes from. With the NDT
bringing in TV cameras and fresh new sponsor money, it
seems clear that the organization and the tournament
are on the right track.
cheers,
Stephen
