Why does this have uniquely to do with the framing of debates as advocacy or
whatever it is you say about it? It seems to me that there are a lot of
things that can happen with in the course of rounds that would make people
who are prone to violence discuss it, do you really think the causality you
say exists exists? Prove it? i can equally point to anecdotes that say that
people who try to defend old school debbate from those who would like it to
mean something are violent or thretening as well, and if you are right that
this is somehow unique after years of the style then why does that prove
that this is the rule you say it is. I say both of you only see what you
want and use arguments that you know to be argumentativly shaky to justify
that....
