[eDebate] Emporia entries.. and clearing!

Not that I don't want your 15 and 16 seeds to advance (my concern is that all of your advancing teams get the sweepstakes points they think they're going to get), but:
1. That 29 number (and the other previously magic numbers) are gone from the CEDA by-laws with the change.
2. NDT has a provision in its sweepstakes procedures that if more than half the teams advance, only those in the top half get points for the first outround (thus, 15 and 16 seeds wouldn't get NDT points for the octas round, but would get points for later rounds if they pulled off the upset).
3. CEDA's new by-law doesn't have such language; I think we'd want to hear from Jeff Jarman on what will ensue in that instance.

On a related note (primarily for Jim Hanson and Jeff Jarman), there were 12 teams in novice at Vanderbilt for the first four rounds, which, I presume, is why six teams (half the field) were cleared. Under both NDT rules and CEDA by-laws, this should be good enough for counting points for the partial quarter. Note that Vandy AS debated in all four of those rounds. They're not listed in the cum sheet, presumably because Dr. Davis clicked the "stop scheduling" box after round 4 (I discovered the hard way that this makes the team's line disappear from the cum sheet).

Thanks to Justin Green for reminding me that we only needed 29 to make
octs... duh... the old rule still applies! So yeah.. we'll do that.

  ESU entries are closed.
