a new event, the "IDEA Exchange," will take place on November 1st and

Here is the proposed workshop plan for Proposal Writing Workshop -

Workshop facilitator: Marcin Zaleski

Marcin has been with IDEA since its inception and "has worn many hats"
with the organization. Marcin has been involved in grant writing part
time for IDEA and its members for the last 6 years and has managed to
obtain the grants worth close to 600, 000 Euro.

The proposed workshop will cover 6 hrs of instruction and will include
the following objectives:

*	Acquaint participants with some of the grant opportunities;
*	Present a strategy for developing successful project proposals;
*	Provide opportunity for practicing proposal writing skills

The workshop will include the following sessions:

1.	Where is the money? - grant giving programs in Europe in the
area of
youth, education and human rights.
2.	Before the writing begins - reading the guidelines, coming up
with ideas
and research.
3.	Putting ideas into words- writing the proposal
4.	Developing the budget
5.	Practice makes perfect - a short exercise in proposal writing.

There will also be ample opportunity to discuss proposal writing and
other fundraising issues with Marcin after the workshop.
