Cross Examination Debate Association Election Results -12.07        

60 ballots were cast in the election. Not every ballot voted on each
election or amendment.

The following officers were elected:



.        Sue Peterson from CSU Chico, as Second VP

.        ML Sandoz, from Vanderbilt, as Treasurer

.        Jeffrey Jarman, from Wichita State, re-elected as Executive
Secretary

.        Jarrod Atchison, from Trinity, as an at-large representative to the
Topic Selection Committee.

 

The following individuals were elected as regional representatives .

 

.        Vik Keenan, from Baruch, as Northeast Rep.

.        David Cram-Helwich, from Minnesota, as North Central Rep.

.        Matt Stannard, from Wyoming, as Rocky Mountain Rep.

.        Jake Thompson, from UNLV, as Southern California Rep.

.        Jarrod Atchison, from Trinity, as South Central Rep.

 

The Mid Atlantic election was a tie. There will be a separate run-off
election between Mike Davis, from James Madison, and Andy Ellis, from
Baltimore.

 

The amendment results follow. Amendments to the bylaws on require a simple
majority. Amendments to the article require 2/3 passage.

 

AMENDMENT #1: SCHOLASTIC ALL AMERICAN AWARD

.        Majority needed for passage

.        Passes 52-6 (89.7%)

 

AMENDMENT #2:  MEMBERSHIP FEES

.        2/3 needed for passage

.        Passes 56-3 (94.9%)

 

AMENDMENT #3:  CONFERERNCES

.        2/3 needed for passage

.        Fails - 37-20 (64.9%)

 

AMENDMENT #4:  TERMS OF OFFICERS

.        2/3 needed for passage

.        Passes - 46-13 (78%)

 

AMENDMENT #5:  OFFICERS & AFFILIATION

.        2/3 needed for passage

.        Passes 51-8  (86.4%)

 

AMENDMENT #6:  BUSINESS MEETING

.        2/3 needed for passage

.        Passes 54-4 (93.1%)

 

AMENDMENT #7:  TOURNAMENT SANCTIONING

.        Majority needed for passage

.        Passes 32-26 (55.2%)

 

AMENDMENT #8:  FINAL ROUND PROVISION

.        Majority needed for passage 

.        Passes 44-13 (77.2%)

 

AMENDMENT #9:  NOVICE DEFINITION

.        Majority needed for passage

.        Passes 37-21 (63.8%)
