POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
COMMUNICATION ARTS AND SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION
CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, CHICO

POSITION:			Approximately 4-5 Teaching Associate positions						are
available in any given year.

QUALIFICATIONS		Equivalent to or completion of the requirements for a
AND EDUCATION:	bachelor's degrees, and concurrent admission to or
enrollment in a graduate degree program of the university in
Communication Studies. Applicants must have educational background in
the subject matter of the discipline to which the individual is
assigned. Ability to relate well to others within the academic
environment and ability to instruct and evaluate students. Exceptions
to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole
discretion of the university.

DUTIES AND	Teaching Associates are responsible for providing
SALARY:	class discussion, making assignments to students, preparing
course materials, assessing students performance, tutoring students
and determining course grades. Teaching Associates teach the
performance sections of public speaking courses and/or assist with
forensics.Full-time Teaching Associates are hired at a 40% position
and earn approximately $10,896.00 per academic year.

recommendation should be should be submitted. Application review will
begin as listed below and will continue until positions are filled.
