[eDebate] Topicality, Child Molestation, and Civil Disobediance
Wed Jun 13 11:35:27 CDT 2007
I think the analogy between child molestation and "topic molestation" is
more than a little over the top. Actually, I think it is pretty ridiculous.
As far as your civil disobedience arguments go, they're internally
contradictory. On the one hand, you claim that voting folks down for being
non-topical will serve to "deter topic molesters" and on the other you claim
that suffering losses for being non-topical will give strength and coherence
to a protest against the topic?
1) Learn how to spell Gandhi correctly. Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine.
2) Make up your mind on whether you want to deter bad actors or offer them
movement strategy advice.
3) Next time, just quote Walter Sobchak - "this isn't Nam, Smoky, there are
rules." That was most of your argument, no?
