Hi all,
first, THANKS TO OU and CEDA!!   They had everything down this past weekend--ballot runners, hospitality like you would not believe, great food all the time, great social events, AWESOME tabbing (thanks, GL), they spoke to the right weather people, free T-shirts, etc. etc. etc.   All that AND they win the tourney.  TOTALLY great job by OU.  We will attend any tournament they host.

University of Minnesota Debate Coach

The University of Minnesota seeks applicants for the position of Debate
Coach (job class 9903) for the 2007-2008 school year and renewable annually
thereafter. The position is a 100% time, 9-month (8/27/07 - 5/25/08)
appointment, with excellent benefits and a salary ranging in the forties.

The Debate Coach has primary responsibility for directing the University's
competitive program in parliamentary and policy debate. The short-term goal
of the team is to begin to rebuild a competitive policy team, augmented
with NPDA participation, which aspires to regional prominence as a possible
steppingstone to a nationally prominent program. Specific duties include
planning the budget, traveling with the team, judging, recruiting, and
overseeing the administration of the program. The successful candidate must
be willing to work with all experience levels and non-traditional students.
In addition to coaching duties and teaching one course each semester on
competitive debate, the coach will teach one undergraduate service course
each semester.

Required Qualifications: MA or MS degree in Communication Studies or a
related area with college teaching experience (or equivalent with
college-age students) required. Travel is required.

Preferred: PhD, M.Div or JD with appropriate teaching or training
experience. Budget, student recruitment, and administrative supervision
experience; excellent organizational and time management skills.
