position that is a tenure-track (continuing contract) in 3 years.  They

Position Title: Assistant Professor-Speech/Assistant Debate Coach 

Position Status: FTR - Full-Time Regular 

Branch/Division/Department: Academic/Liberal Arts/SLAE 

Summary of Job Duties: Teach classroom courses in Debate, Public
Speaking, Interpersonal Communication and Personal Communication, as
well as serving as an assistant debate coach for the debate team. Debate
responsibilities include: traveling to tournaments, judging, managing
team research, the development of team strategies, conducting practice
debates, recruiting and assisting in the hosting of the National Junior
Division Debate Tournament. Must be willing to work with all experience
levels (Novice, JV,Open). Will perform other duties expected of
full-time faculty. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which
would include evening/weekend assignments. 

Full-time, regular, faculty appointment leading to continuing contract
eligibility. Nine-month position. 

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech Communication or a
closely related field with an emphasis in communication required.
Previous college-level debate coaching experience and Post-Secondary
teaching experience is required. Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment
to the teaching mission of a comprehensive community college required. 

Salary/Benefits: Placement on the salary schedule based on degrees and
