Just a friendly reminder to anyone hosting a tournament. If you missed it in the newsletter, please be aware of 2 important constitutional changes that are in place.

Beginning last year, any team that is a new/emerging program, can for up to 3 years, request that their entry fees be reduced by 50% for tournament entry. Additionally, they will have their CEDA dues waived for that time period. Any tournament that feels it cannot afford to reduce fees, must submit a request for waiver to the Executive Secretary with time for him to review the matter and make a decision.

Beginning this year, any tournament with multiple divisions, that offers MPJ in any division, must offer a form of judge selection in all divisions offered. It does not have to be the same selection criteria for each division, however a minimum amount of preference/strikes/selection must be offered across the board. To clarify: You could do 7 categories in one division, 5 categories in 2 others for example. You could do ABC Strike in 1 division and just strikes in the others.

If you have questions about any of the above, I would be glad to talk to you. The Executive Secretary would also be glad to discuss rule interpretations with you.

Thanks,
Chief
