Hey all,
I've received a number of e-mails asking about authorship on the CSIS blog.
At its inception in January, there was a decision not to explicilty post
author identities for a number of reasons but the blog is undergoing some
transitions and it appears that may be changing. In the interests of
academic integrity and full disclosure (in part based on concerns based on
what happened at the TOC), I do the majority, but not all, of the blogging
on the site (you can also figure out authorship if you download blog posts
in an RSS feeder). I leave it to you all to sort out whether I'm qualified
but want to note I do my blogging from the view of a DC analyst based
on what I read and meetings I attend not as a debate coach. That said,
there will inevitably be some apparent overlap as evidenced by the
discussion about the role of talking with allies in extended deterrence and
how the buzzword "consult" applies to the "consult cp" as it works in
debate. My views on the significant difference between the two is beyond
the purview of this post (which I hope shouldn't be read as "evidence")
but the former is a topic that will be discussed in nuclear policy circles
this year. I hope that helps shed some light on things and feel free to let
me know if you have any questions or concerns at cjones at csis.org

Best,
Chris
